I wanted to talk about Robin Williams’ tragic passing. I’ve always viewed Robin Williams as this incredibly creative, hilariously destructive kind of guy; obviously I don’t actually know him. I am saddened not only because a figure like himself has passed, but also for everyone who knew him and how they explain how he’s touched their hearts. ( Conan O’ Brien, Jimmy Fallon etc. ) I think his passing has really brought a lot of focus on mental illness and unfortunately has spun off to debates about the reasoning behind his suicide. I think this is a major problem especially in the media and here’s why: First off, he has passed away for reasons we do not and choose not to understand. We shouldn’t then try to debate the reasoning or make assumptions, neither will bring him back. We view celebrities as infallible. I mean how could someone with such fame, money, and success ever be so unhappy that they took their own life? When we hear “Robin Williams suffered from mental illness and battled it for years”, we accept it immediately. But we almost never choose to even try to understand why. Robin Williams could have been very happy, by what the people who actually know him have said, he was. Mental illness isn’t a condition that just happens to people, it is a reflection of our mental health, and anyone can succumb to it. We need to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness if we are ever going to be able to help people. This is something I learned from Clara Hughes and the Canadian Mental Health Association when we spoke for Clara’s Big Ride. If someone suffers from anxiety, depression, or other “illnesses” it doesn’t mean they are different, it just means their mental health is asking to be nurtured. But if they feel like outcasts, then they are going to feel alone and they won’t seek any help or answers for the reasons they are feeling this way. If we just accept that Robin Williams took his own life due to his “suffering from inner demons” (As one report read) and we take that as a basis for our understanding, then we won’t be able to help other people that are in his exact same shoes. Everyone has a brain, everyone has mental health. End the stigma surrounded around mental illness and understand why people can end up in such a situation as this one rather than just assume. You can always be the reason someone smiles today, and you can always be there to help people when they need you. My favorite tribute: You’re free now, Genie RIP Robin Williams

Welcoming this beautiful little baby boy in to the world. This little sweet guy is Aiden Boyd Canart and he is my sister’s second child! At 25 she’s truly inspired me to be as great as a person that I can be and work as hard as I can. I’m so proud of my big sis for raising 2 kids, becoming a nurse and finding her happiness in her beautiful family and young life. She is a constant reminder of what’s truly important in life and I love her to pieces. Congrats @kristincanart !

Had the sweetest little presentation today at a daycare arranged by @peachykeenee , an old high school friend of mine. I gotta say, our presentation is set up for predominantly high school and junior high students… So speaking to a class of 5 – 11 year olds was actually a daunting task. We changed up the speech a bit to make sure we could encompass our message in a relatable way. I guess you could say we were blown away again. We never know if people are listening until we get their responses. The kids loved what we had to say. The daycare launched Posi-Grams right after our speech. Which is the hard copy version of Posi lol. The kids have to write something nice about someone in their class and then it gets put up on the wall. If it isn’t nice, the teachers don’t post it and the kids have a talking to. It’s amazing to look at the impact you can have in young people’s lives by just showing them things you’ve learned from successes and failures in life. If we could live in a happier, more optimistic, and positive world, there would be no limits on what we could do as individuals and as a collective. Stay Posi friends.

Guilty confession : I have always dreamed to be an actor. I mean, with a realistic mindset that it probably wouldn’t happen. Being in the city where acting dreams come true, I feel almost electric walking around. Though I’m here for the front of my shirt, I still feel so connected to this place. You’ll never know if you would have succeeded if you never try. For now, I’ll only wonder.

Went on a boys’ retreat this past weekend and had one of the best experiences of my life. I am so grateful to have such incredible friends. I’ve never witnessed or been a part of a group of guys that are so close until we became brothers. @posibrandt @braden @brettchartier @thebryced thank you for the brotherhood. Five strong personalities, individual strengths and different outlooks that only become more powerful as a collective. “Be The Colour in a Field of Grey”

TOO SWEET! A guy I truly look up to and count on for advice and mentorship just published his book “Sustainable High Performance”. @jbro and I have had several chats about how important encompassing a positive psychology and mindset is for every day life. Jason specializes in the physician field, helping professionals face the challenges and obstacles the profession can pose on individual health and lifestyle. A small gesture such as signing his book carries so much weight with me, and I am truly grateful to call JBro my bro. Keep helping people out brother, you’re making the world a better place. Stay Posi.

Having been to Ibiza, Tomorrowland, Vegas, Cancun and many other intense party places on my travels I’ve gotten to see the best DJs in the world multiple times. This is a picture from Cancun 2012 with Bassjackers. Their set at Palazzo was one of the best sets I’ve ever heard. They are climbing the charts as of late and I can’t stress how unreal they are live. So excited to see them tonight in Winnipeg. This was one of the best weeks of my life, with the greatest group of friends I could ask for. The bonding we went through made us brothers, and had an experience only we could understand. @posibrandt @thebryced @braden
