So my little baby Noah went missing yesterday and it was suspected that someone took him as he is extremely cute and did not have his collar on. I am in the middle of my finals for my first semester of medical school and I write 5 exams starting Tuesday. Since he has been missing I haven’t cracked a single page and was starting to freak out. While sulking today, my landlord knocked on our door and had Noah with him. I don’t know if it was the knocking I every persons door on this side of the island, fliers put up or the animal rescue reaching out to the entire country, but SOMEONE saw Noah and returned him home to me. Little Easter miracle! And nowwww I should probably study so I can pass and come back to Winnipeg with a smile on my face and an invitation to semester 2! Have an amazing day everyone.

Amazing thing happened the other day… I was down at the little quiet beach the other day with my roommate Maddie and each of our dogs. I was doing my beach cleanup and went to walk down the length of the beach. I left the car key on my towel at the other end of the beach. When I came back the towel was moved slightly and I instantly suspected that the dogs had grabbed the towel…and the key was nowhere to be seen. We rent our van from some random guy in Anguilla and there is no spare key. It was getting close to sunset and time was extremely limited, since tide would be coming in soon and wherever the key is, it would surely be washed away by morning….and we would be screwed…and out tons of $$$. As I was walking back and tracing my steps in case I had taken the key with me, a group of younger students from one of the other islands, approached us and asked if they could help. After about 15 minutes one of them found it, 20ft away, where one of the dogs must have carried it and dropped it. The group told us that they were a service group who flew here to help people, clean up, and do any other services that people would need. They said they saw us in distress looking frantically for our only key, and they came over and without us asking or hinting, and helped us. We had two exams the next day and in sure that the stress from losing our key would have really affected our grades, but thanks to the general kindness and ambition of these young students, we got our van back and saved a lottttt of $ and stress. The universe works in strange ways, so give it a reason to work in your favor. KC

I am not a runner. I actually really dislike it. But I decided to sign up for the Anguilla Red Cross 5k (which is probably further than I’ve ever ran). All of the money raised went directly to transforming the Red Cross van into a wheelchair accessible one for the many people using wheelchairs, as this country does not have a single one! We raised almost enough to have it installed. I ended up finishing 2nd overall and aside from almost collapsing from heat stroke, had an amazing day away from studying.

My grandmother and I have a special bond. She is one of the strongest people I have ever come across. She has beat cancer twice and now in her 70s, volunteers every day helping people less fortunate than her. She is always healing people and always spreading positivity. I sent her an email telling her how proud I am that she is my grandmother and how much inspiration she has been for the family, and this is how she replied. Everyone should really think about that message and never leave anything unsaid with loved ones.
