Uncategorized My roommate was at a bar in New York City last night and the bartender was wearing a Winnipeg Jets shirt. I woke up this morning to a text that said “The bartender from Winnipeg wants you to know that you have family here in New York.” I am proud every single day of where I come from, and while I have felt lonely here at Dartmouth, I have never stopped feeling the support of my home town. I am nervous to be living away from home next year in a city that is so foreign to me, but I find comfort in knowing that my home town support system will follow me wherever I go. Winnipeg truly does have the best people out there. Posted on May 25, 2014 by Melina Continue reading →
Uncategorized My Dad – My Hero After 33 years as the pro at the Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club, Geno is retiring from squash and moving into the world of business and sales. What this guy gave to the squash community in the past 30 years has been insurmountable – not only locally, but also nationally and internationally. His immense passion for and knowledge of the game have made him one of the most respected and loved members of the squash community. His selflessness has allowed him to continue to contribute to the game of squash even when squash had little to give back. Squash Canada will never find another quite like him. Proud of you, Faj.
