I taught a little boy how to tie his shoes! :) Last month, I started a new job working two new jobs at a daycare. Between both sides that I work at, preschool and school age, there are about 60 kids I had to get to know in a short amount of time. It was really hard to learn their names, let alone their interests, but my first few days in, I taught a young boy how to tie his shoes! He worked so hard at but finally, he got it! He was so proud of himself! It was great to see! And it was nice that even at his age, he was so thankful because he would keep telling people that Madame Melissa taught him! Never forget the small things, because often times they’re the most important.

After 8 years, reunited with my sister. Nine years ago, my sister started dating a man who she thought was the man of her dreams. Instead, he brainwashed her, made her change religion and convinced her to do things she would never do by promising her the perfect life and making himself seem like the perfect man, which is something he is far from being. Eight years ago last month, in March 2006, she moved out to live with him and his family and that was the last time I saw her. She called me one last time on May 20th,2006 and that was the last time I had heard from her. At the time she left, she was pregnant with their first child. After moving in with his family, they continued brainwashing her and essentially kidnapped her, taking her away from her far away from her family. They convinced her that her family hated her an would never take her back. She was stuck in a very abusive relationship for eight years. Luckily, even with all of this going on, she managed to finish college and receive her diploma. Her and this man had two kids together. Last year, this sad excuse of a man had an affair with an other woman, and had had possibly other relations with other women as well. When my sister found out, she broke up with him and moved into a woman’s shelter because she had nothing. Eventually they got back together and he promised her a fresh start and said that they would move to the Maritimes to do so. He forced her to sign her kids over to his parents and they went East, where he ended up abandoning her and taking everything, not even leaving her with one single picture of their children. Friday, April 11th, was “siblings day” according to Facebook, and after seeing so many pictures of my friends with their brothers and sisters, I decides to post a picture of mine. It was late at night and I couldn’t sleep because I kept thinking about my sister, so I figured this would be a good way to express myself. I wrote on the picture that it had been eight years since she left and that I miss her and pray for her to come home. At 10:51 the next day, my brother texted me saying that our sister had added him on Facebook and sent him a message saying how she needed someone. Within the next two hours, I was on the phone with her, hearing her voice for the first time in so long. She said she wants to come home but she doesn’t have the means to do so because her husband took everything. I told her that I’d fly out there this week and come get her, my brother was ready to come too. She had just made her account Thursday, since when she was with her husband, she wasn’t aloud to contact us of have such things Less than 24 hours after our first phone call in almost a decade, our oldest brother got her a flight back home. She left all that she had behind and fit the rest into two suitcases and arrived back home today, unfortunately without her kids, but she is home and safe. This text message is the first time I had heard from her and then we talked on the phone to hear each others voices:) Miracles happen, this is proof
