This is my beautiful girlfriend @madkarls. She has one of the biggest hearts I have ever encountered. Yesterday she created an extremely posi moment. While in line at a bookstore she witnessed a middle aged man with a handicap who was counting all his change to attempt to buy a book. After counting out all of his change the cashier notified him that he was 80 cents short. He began to scrape the change off the counter back into his hand but without hesitation @madkarls stepped forward an offered a dollar. She described his look as surprised and almost in tears. Although it is only a dollar and doesn’t mean much to Madi, we must remember that kind acts don’t have a monetary value. What seems small to us may be huge to others. Extremely proud of her for stepping up and just adding a small bit a posi into someone else’s day. So whether it’s lending a dollar or lending a hand, I challenge everyone to make a small difference in a strangers day.

This is an old photo but many of these members are still active in my boxing “buttcamps”. I’m so thankful for the people I work with. They make showing up to the gym an absolute pleasure. What started as a small group of people wanting to try a month of boxing has turned into a fitness Bootcamp that hit record numbers this summer with 50+ members. The growth of these bootcamps is a direct result of word of mouth from these members. Thank you to my whole Bootcamp family. It is extremely powerful and rewarding to share my passion with others. My father passed away aug 22nd 2012 in a tragic plane accident. I will be forever grateful for the gifts he left. In an odd twisted way I wouldn’t change a thing. This man taught me how to live life and be a man. He left doing what he loved and doing it at 100%. He taught me hard work, the importance of taking ownership and the harsh reality of consequences. This picture sums up our relationship pretty good. We were not very good at showing emotion towards one another however we had a mutual respect and understanding of how much the other cared. If there is any ounce of toughness in my blood, I owe it to this man. So grateful and lucky to have had this man as my father.

Truly getting to know someone happens in different stages and with different tests. One of the first tests is spending a weekend together, a second test is spending a whole week with one another and the third is your first big fight followed with your first makeup. The last year I’ve been able to do all 4 with this girl. Fortunately we passed the tests and have developed a deeper understanding and patience for one another. Looking forward to more trips and more laughs @madkarls.
