Every day can’t be a home run. Sometimes the world is just going to throw some stuff in your path that’s tough to deal with. For example, my day consisted of giving two presentations, writing a final exam, and getting rear-ended by someone going 60 leaving campus. It’s days like that when appreciation for the little things becomes so important. No one got hurt, my truck can be fixed, and I’m sure I haven’t failed out of school. My point here is this: when the world tries it’s best to ruin your day, appreciate the little things. Spontaneously go for coffee with a friend, smile at a stranger, or go for a fresh new haircut to help make you feel like a million bucks again. Whatever makes you smile, do it.
