This is my dad. He’s also my best friend. When I was 15, he was diagnosed with cancer after months of pain and uncertainty. Chemo, radiation, and finally a stem cell transplant were nothing in comparison to this guys spirit through it all. That’s what got him through. Never did he not have a smile on his face, and his ridiculous sense of humor didn’t miss a beat for almost 2 years. This past January, we almost lost him. He had a subdural hemotoma that was probably hours away from killing him. He had emergency surgery, ironically thanks to a CT scan at a routine cancer care appointment. He had one more surgery this past weekend to drain some more fluid surrounding his brain. He’s put us through hell, but his positivity and strength through all of this shit is insanely inspiring to me and everyone who knows him. So cheers to Sieg, a rock of a man and someone I’m proud to call my dad. :blue_heart:

I work for the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Academy as a coach, and this is one of my kids in the program named Courtney. She was diagnosed with brain cancer at the young age of 11. She then set out to raise money for Cancer Care Manitoba by creating “Think Pink” which allowed her to raise almost 4 thousand dollars. She has since undergone surgery to remove the brain tumour and is now healthy. Courtney has inspired me by her amazing strength and courage. I look forward to seeing this amazing girl’s smile every day and I am honoured to be able to call myself one of her coaches.
