Uncategorized This past year I spent two months volunteering at a medical clinic in Cusco Peru. One of my first days there a few of us helped out a local doctor run a dental clinic at a local school. We spent all day handing out free toothbrushes and showing hundreds of kids how to properly brush their teeth. As they mimicked us, we could see a lot of them already has multiple cavities. Knowing how to properly brush my teeth and always having a toothbrush and toothpaste available to me was never a question in my life. It’s something so simple, and yet these kids were thrilled to get a toothbrush and learn. It made me re-examine my life and every little thing I have taken for granted in the past. Although we went there to teach them something, those kids ended up teaching me so much more. I will always be grateful for this experience and all of those smiles. Uncategorized Just want to extend some love to anyone going through the end-of-semester crunch right now. Just remember that soon we can trade those textbooks and coffees for beers and sunshine. We’ve got this. Posted on April 7, 2014 by Teagan Continue reading →
