#100daysofhappy Day One: What an incredible way to kick off this journey. For those of us who live in Winnipeg, we know how slippery and tumultuous our streets can be this time of year. Attempting to navigate across one of them in peak traffic hours can be an ordeal at the best of times. Now, take a moment to imagine facing this task without the help of either your sight or your hearing. This is a reality for a staggering portion of our population. Today I had the amazing fortune of being in the right place at the right time to lend a hand to an incredibly sweet elderly woman afflicted by both the loss of hearing AND sight. The warm hug and bright smile she gave me after delivering her safely to her bus stop across the street was the epitome of #happiness for me. I expected nothing in return for this gesture, but that smile was more than I could have ever asked for.
